Geography

Everything has to do with Geography. - Judy Martz

In the Geography class I learned about the stages of rivers which are distributed in three. They are:

Upper/youthful stage

In the youthful stage, the river flows with full of energy and power.

The main work of the youthful stage is erosion.

It forms the gorge, valleys and  waterfalls are formed.

Middle/mature stage

In the mature stage of a river the slope becomes gentler and the river becomes much wider as it is joined by many tributaries

The main work is the transportation of eroded.

Meanders are bends or curves which are found in the mature stage (middle course) of a river.

Lower/old stage

The lower course is also called the old stage of the river.

The main work in the stage is the deposition of load eroded.

The features formed during this stage are estuary and delta.
